Dr Miranda Robinson (She/Her)

Obstetrician & Gynaecologist / AuDHDer

Miranda grew up in Dunedin Aoteoroa/New Zealand, studying medicine at the University of Otago (Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka).

After moving to Australia in 1997 she studied Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Medical centre and in 2002 she was awarded the gold medal for the highest mark in her specialist examinations. She completed her training in England and returned to take up a busy public position at the Mercy Hospital for Women where she stayed for over 14 years including running the emergency department and helping teach the next generation of doctors, midwives and obstetricians.

She transferred her private practice to Fitzroy in 2013 but it was during the COVID lockdowns that she started to see an increasing need for a different style of practice particularly for those with more complex needs. Through the discovery of her own neurodivergence and the often challenging journey of navigating parenthood and the medical system; she can offer genuine empathy and understanding. Over the last year she has finally brought this idea to fruition through her new practice - grounded gynaecology.

If she weren’t a doctor perhaps Miranda would have been a singer or perhaps an artist! Meanwhile she likes to spend time with her 2 teenaged children, to travel, bike ride and be out in nature.

Olivia is our wonderful office manager here at grounded gynaecology.

After leaving school Olivia initially started training to be a paramedic. These plans, like so many, were derailed by the COVID pandemic.

Olivia has subsequently worked in several busy medical reception jobs including in the emergency department at the Mercy Hospital for Women and in other medical specialists rooms in the northern suburbs. She also spent several years living and working overseas in europe for 2 years.
